Faith E-News: New Mission Statement and Upcoming Sermon Series

December 26, 2022

In this Sunday scripture reading the church leaders are upset that Jesus is associating with "tax collectors and sinners." They missed the amazing miracle right in front of them. Those tax collectors and sinners were coming close to Jesus, they were listening to him. Jesus gives an interesting response. He talks about the extreme joy that a shepherd has over finding a lost sheep and the reaction of a woman finding her silver coin. In each instance, they tell everyone of their success and celebrate to the extreme.

Padonia Request and Spring Cleaning Drive Update

This week, we see a blind man in the scriptures. But then we note how Jesus sees him. Our Gospel lesson today reminds us that God redeems pain and corrects our assumptions. The man that is healed is not an object for pity, but one given a task to aid his healing. Come to worship, grateful that Jesus is the light of the world, removing darkness and healing our vision in all ways.

Saturday Wedding Invitation and Bells are Back this Season

Our Gospel lesson today centers around an unexpected request. Jesus, our Living Water, asks a Samaritan woman for a drink. Her confusion is evident in her own questions but from them, she shares her hope for the messiah. Jesus reveals that he is that person. In her haste to tell her neighbors, she leaves her unneeded water jar behind. Come to worship, grateful that Jesus is the well we need, even when we are seeking our wellness in everywhere else.
