In Jesus' words, we hear about end times and troubling events. Yet even in the midst of these truths, Jesus offers encouragement and a call to trust God no matter what happens. Let's worship with confidence in our Lord, who is the victor over all for all time.
In Jesus' parable, we are confronted by a widow who continues to ask a reluctant judge for justice. We are reminded that persistence pays off even when it is pitted against the indifference of the powerful and the barriers of the system. We come to worship, grateful for our judge. We know God cares to hear from us and so we pray with persistence in his faithfulness.
In our scriptures, we are reminded that we have hope. We have an inheritance in God's kingdom and we are witnessed to his power. As we celebrate the saints who are now blessed by seeing this in full, we come to worship with confidence in the love of God who offers us comfort when we mourn and joy after tears.
