Faith Salem Worship April 25th 2021. Good Shepherd Sunday. Celebrate Earth Day with Pastors Dave, Sarah, and Micah. We acknowledge our responsibility to care for God's creation with special prayers, music, and message. Our Gospel text brings us Jesus: the Good Shepherd.
Hide yourself in God, so when someone wants to find you they will have to go there first.
This Sunday we look at Jesus as our Good Shepherd. We recognize that Jesus lays his life down for us and obeys his Father. He seeks out others and knows his flock. We come to worship grateful and excited to walk by faith as we follow our Lord wherever he leads us.
The gospel lesson this Sunday focuses on the meal with the risen Christ. He eats with them as a means to show he is alive. Yet in that meal, he does more. He opens the disciples' minds to understand the scriptures and why Jesus died. Come to the service of worship to partake in a meal in communion with Christ and be open to all he shares with you.
This Sunday we come to a gospel story about Thomas asking to see that Jesus is alive by his wounds. Even after he heard from others about their meeting with Jesus, we are encouraged that God met his need to have a personal encounter too. Come to worship and celebrate the breath of new life Jesus sends to reignite our faith.
