Faith Salem Worship April 25th 2021. Good Shepherd Sunday. Celebrate Earth Day with Pastors Dave, Sarah, and Micah. We acknowledge our responsibility to care for God's creation with special prayers, music, and message. Our Gospel text brings us Jesus: the Good Shepherd.
Hide yourself in God, so when someone wants to find you they will have to go there first.
Jesus appears to the disciples, even though they are hiding in a locked room. But the one missing also faced a locked heart, needing to see to believe. Jesus came to reassure him. Let's come to worship, no longer hiding in our fears and doubts as we ask God to unlock our faith to see his loving presence.
Easter Sunday is almost here. We will hear the amazing words again and find the tomb is opened and empty. We will celebrate with awe and joy, just as the disciples did so long ago. Come to worship and bring others, just like the first Easter, and see the greatest news of all. He is risen, he is risen, indeed!
On Palm Sunday, we shout and sing "Hosanna," or "Save us," and Jesus answers. He comes humbly forward, giving his life. Our prayers already answered, even in the meaning of his name, "The Lord saves." Let us bring our palms together to praise our King and Messiah. Come to worship, thankful that Jesus answered "Hosanna" beyond our hopes to give so much more than we asked or imagined.
