God Calls Us to the Truth - In our gospel lesson, Jesus shares that we learn truth by continuing in God's word.
Dear Faith Family, This Sunday we dedicate our new Mission Statement and ask God's Blessing on our continued ministry in the years ahead. We will also begin our 4-week Sermon Series on our Mission Statement. This week we are going deeper into what it means to "Invite all people." We will hear three passages from scripture that invite us and call us to invite others.
We are transformed by holy communion with Jesus and we celebrate the newness in our purpose through him.
We are called to love in a way that can only occur with God's help and power.
This week we hear about Jesus predicting the destruction of the great buildings in Jerusalem. After hearing of that tragedy, the disciples questioned when all this would happen. In this scene, Jesus reminds us where our focus should remain, even in times of trouble, and that he will always be with us until the end.

This week in our Gospel, James and John ask to sit next to Jesus when he comes into his glory. But Jesus tells them and all of the disciples that they don’t know what they are asking. Jesus then turns their attention to leadership. In doing so, Jesus helps the disciples and us to see our place in the larger story, continuing the ministry of Jesus in the world around us.
This week in our Gospel, Jesus is asked by one individual “What must be done to inherit eternal life” and Jesus responds with a hard answer: To go and sell all of his possessions, give the money to the poor and to follow him and the disciples. Today’s text is challenging for us to hear individually, but in it, there is abundant life to be found in the community of God.
This week in our Gospel, Jesus is tested by the Pharisees about the lawfulness about divorce. Jesus sidesteps the question (as it’s meant to get him in trouble) and turns our attention toward what it means to be in relationship with one another.
This week in our Gospel, the disciples hear about a person who is healing in Jesus’ name and try to stop him. But Jesus tells them not to and that anyone who is not against us is for us, pushing us into a conversation about ownership of ministry and how we see our discipleship in the world.
This week in our Gospel, Jesus teaches the disciples about what greatness looks like in our faith. So, we will hear about how we are called to serve one another and see God in one another.
In today's Gospel we hear Jesus talking with disciples about what it means to be the Messiah. And we also remember the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
This week in our Gospel we hear of Jesus' encounter with the Syrophoenician woman who changes the course of Jesus' ministry and in turn, opens our hearts and minds to the ministry that we are called to as well.
Today we hear what really matters when we practice the traditions and rituals of our faith.
Today we hear how Peter and the disciples respond to Jesus' teaching and the promise that it offers us.
